Goat Cheese Crostini with Honey

Ingredients

  • 12 slices of baguette, 1 cm (1/2 in) thick (or 12 croutons)
  • 22 mL (1 ½ tbsp) olive oil
  • 125 mL (1/2 cup) fresh goat cheese, unripened, or cream cheese
  • 30 mL (2 tbsp) liquid honey
  • 60 mL (1/4 cup) of whole pine nuts, grilled, or chopped, grilled pecans or pistachios
  • Freshly ground pepper (optional)

Directions

  1. Lightly brush both sides of bread with oil and place them under the grill a few minutes, turning them over a few times until lightly brown
  2. On each slice, spread 10 mL (2 tsp) of goat cheese. Top with grilled pine nuts and drizzle with honey. Add pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
